…Lone Star Coach
Liberia coach, Kaytu Smith has nothing but kind words for the Super Eagles after the two-time African Champions defeated his side 8-3 on aggregate on Saturday in Calabar.
Smith and his charges were looking forward to creating an upset by edging out Nigeria from a second consecutive AFCON finals appearance, but found their fellow West Africans too difficult to handle.
“I must say the Super Eagles were superior to us” begins the soft spoken tactician.
They started well with that early goal which affected our game plan. That early goal finished us as we were unable to recover from it for the entire duration of the match.”
The Lone Stars ended the game with ten men and Smith was adamant the referee from South Africa got the decision wrong.
