Shortage of Diploma Covers At AMEU Graduation

It was an embarrassing scene at the graduation ceremony of the African Methodist Episcopal University Wednesday when dozens of graduates did not get diploma covers as the result of shortage.
When the diploma covers finished, the President of the AME University, Dr. Jean Bell Manning was seen with a cover which was used by dozens of the graduates who did not get cover for pictures purposes.
Graduates who did not receive diploma covers were seen in angry mood blasting the administration of the University for the shortage of diploma covers.
The students said it was very unfortunate for the administration to have forced them to paid for diploma covers but could not get it.
The students claimed that AMEU’s administration is always doing things that bring embarrassment to the institution.
They wondered why there should be shortage of diploma covers when the administration knew the number of students that were graduating.
The students warned that they would take the administration of the University to task for denying them their diploma covers which they suppose to use to take pictures.
One of the parents whose son did not get diploma cover only identified as Ma Siah said the administration of the University should have known better considering that it was fully aware of the numbers of graduates.
“These people are corrupt; why make us to paid money for things our children did not get; they must give account,” Ma Siah said.
Others parents said the situation was a complete embarrassment to their children.
Six hundred students received degrees in various disciplines including Sociology, Public Administration, Economics, Education, Mass Communication, Political Science, Management, Accounting and Theology.
