...Pleads For More Support

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Tuesday made an official visit to Ivory Coast where she joined her Ivorian and Benin counterparts President Alasane Ouattara and President Yaya Boni to meet with major contributors and funders of the World Bank.

Major contributors and funders of the World Bank are said to be holding discussions in Ivory Coast which is expected to last for several days.

President Johnson-Sirleaf told journalists upon her arrival from Ivory Coast at the Roberts International Airport that the three leaders encouraged contributors and funders of the World Bank to increase their support to the bank.

The Liberian leader said this would enable the Bank to support countries that are beneficiaries of special support with Liberia being no exception.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said she and her colleagues told the Bank's major contributors it is important for them to mobilize more money to support the bank which would subsequently support countries that are in need of financial support.

Liberia is one of the countries that is benefiting from the World Bank in several areas including infrastructures, energy, among others.
