In what appears to be an attempt to undermine the peace and stability of the state has become public knowledge with the indiscriminate display of placards in the streets of Monrovia.

Some of the placards which depict various inscriptions allegedly linked District #6 Representative Edwin M. Snowe to a coup plot.

According to our reporter who visited several parts of Monrovia, said the placards can be seen in almost every part of Monrovia.

Some of the posters alleged that Representative Snowe, with the help of some Liberians and Burkinabe soldiers, are planning to stage a coup.

One of the placards read: “Mr. Snowe and other have started going to Burkina Faso to bring trouble in the oil sector…”

Several persons who spoke to this paper yesterday, condemned those behind the placards and called on government to ensure that unscrupulous individuals are arrested and brought to justice.

Richard Kennedy, a student of the University of Liberia condemned the act and said it is unfair to the people of Liberia.

Siatta Folley believes that government must arrest and prosecute unscrupulous individuals putting placards in the streets of Monrovia to serve as a deterrent.

Since the appearance of the placards in the streets of Monrovia about two weeks ago, the Liberian government has remained mute.

The publication of the posters followed allegation by a civil society group, Movement for the Defense of the Down Trodden that a member of the Legislature has met with a retired army general in Burkina Faso with the aim of destabilizing Liberia.

The group failed to adduce evidence, but indicated that it briefed security authorities about the development.
