…Finance Minister Stresses

Finance Minister Amara Konneh has instructed senior management team, particularly the Expenditure Department to ensure the timely payment of civil servants salaries across the country.

A release issued by the Finance Ministry’s Media Services said the decision is part of its unwavering commitment to serve the people of Liberia by making payment of civil servants salaries a priority.

The Finance Minister said the timely payment of salaries to civil servants as well as pensioners will induce productivity at workplaces and at the same time stimulate the domestic economy giving a more glaring reality to “papa na come.”

Minister Konneh, in an emergency meeting with his senior management team Saturday, challenged them to fast track the salary payment issue, especially in the wake of the upcoming holiday seasons, the release said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance will begin the payment of salaries throughout the country for the months of November and December beginning November 15th.
