The Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization (BIN) have arrested 14 foreigners along with two Liberians.
A release from BIN said the 14 foreigners include 10 Sierra Leoneans while the others are said to be from Guinea Bissau.
According to the release, the suspects were arrested on Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Bernard Farm, Montserrado County.
The release said during preliminary investigation, it was established that the 14 aliens sneaked into Liberia amidst the closure of all borders.
The 14 aliens, the release said, have been charged with illegal entry which in violation of section 5.90 of the Alien and Nationality Law of Liberia, while the two Liberians have also been charged for violating section 5.91 by bringing in or harboring illegal aliens. The suspects have been forwarded to court for prosecution.
BIN Commissioner Cllr. Lemuel E. A. Reeves is quoted in the release as saying that his administration would not allow anyone to illegally enter Liberia.
Commissioner Reeves also admonished BIN officers to remain focused and vigilant in the discharge of their duties.
