A group of women under the banner of Montserrado Rural Women Association (MRWA) yesterday gathered at the Capitol Building in protest to utterances made by Montserrado County District #7 Representative Solomon George.
During their protest, the rural women called on Representative George to apologize to the women of Liberia for insults rained on Madam Mary Broh during a town hall meeting in the United States of America.
It can be recalled that Representative George told members of the Liberian community in Minnesota, USA, that he would take Monrovia City Mayor Mary Broh to the beach, tie her and defecate on her.
This statement, according to MRWA President Korpo Howard, did not go down well with the women which made them to stage a protest as a means of getting the attention of Representative George.
Madam Howard said Representative George was wrong to have insulted Madam Broh, knowing that “woman brought him into this world; and as such, he should have respect for woman no matter what a woman does to him.”
However, Representative George could not be reached at his Capitol Building office as his staff said he was nowhere around.
