UBA Acknowledges First Child In 2013

The United Bank of Africa (UBA) Liberia Limited has donated assorted items to the first child born on January 1, 2013 at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Sinkor.
A baby girl, weighed 3.4 kilogram, was born at 6:10am on New Year's day at JFK Medical Center. The child was born unto the union of 21-year-old Mercy Larway and Ozinga Yeagar.
UBA Corporate Communications Manager Baindu Ken said the bank will also open a U-Care Account for the child at its Broad Street Branch.
Ms. Ken said the donation is part of the bank's way of welcoming the child into the world and to put smiles on the face of the parents. She also disclosed that U-Care Account targets children from one month to 18 years.
Madam Ken said the donation is part of the Bank's Corporate Social responsibility to identify with communities, schools, the public and private sectors among other institutions.
The mother of the child, Mercy Larway lauded UBA for the gesture saying “the gifts came at the time when I was not expecting, I know that she would be great among women with such a surprised gesture.”
JFK Administrator Demeia Kaine expressed gratitude to the UBA family, describing the gesture as the first of its kind at the hospital.
