Foreign Minister Gowned

As the saying goes “Give the Man his flower while he is alive” became a reality last Sunday when the National Polit-Bureau of Liberia gowned and certificated Liberia Foreign Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan as Minister of the Year.
Speaking at the ceremony, Samukai V. Corneh said that the gowning and certification of Minister Ngafuan was predicated on his committed to serve the people of Liberia.
According to him, Minister Ngafuan over years, dedicated his time to serving the people of Liberia and honoring him as “Minister of the Year” was not a mistake.
He said the group was grateful that through Minister Ngafuan, there came the successful multi-lateral partnership with the People Republic of China for the construction of a 60 million dollar ministerial complex for Liberia.
Corneh noted that Minister Ngafuan through his efforts in the diplomatic circle, Liberia is now engaging into solving some sub-regional crisis to include Mali, Ivory Coast, and Guinea Bissau among others.
For his part, Minister Ngafuan said that he was humble for such an occasion to be held, at which time the youth of Liberia gowned and certificated him as “Minister of the Year”.
Minister Ngafuan believes that gowning and certification by the National Polit-Bureau of Liberia to him is a manifestation of hard work and committed service to the people of Liberia.
Minister Ngafuan, commenting on Liberia march to democracy, he told the gathering that Liberians have now recognized that the only way change can come about was through the ballot and not the bullet as it was in the past.
Minister Ngafuan cautioned the youth to be focused, adding that the government of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is going to work collectively to ensure much more is achieved.
He told the youths' that the honor bestowed upon him have empowered him to be their ambassador. He said recalled that the poverty of his parents became his asserts and it was through his strives for education and advocacy for change that make him who he is today. He said principles he stood for before remains that same principles he stand for today.
