A Liberian businessman Mr. Edward Slangar has provided US$1,000 to the Special Taskforce on Ebola as his contribution to the fight against the deadly Ebola virus.
Mr. Slangar presented a check for US$1,000 to Madam Mary Broh, Director General of the General Services Agency (GSA) at a brief ceremony held over the weekend at the GSA Compound on United Nations Drive in Monrovia.
Presenting the check to Madam Broh, Slangar said the fight is a national fight that shouldn’t be left with government alone.
He indicated that Ebola is real and described it as an invisible insurgent that needs collective force to expel it from the country.
“We all need to fight that insurgent to get him or her out of Liberia,” he emphasized.
Mr. Slangar noted that as a nationalist, we need to contribute to the fight with whatever we have to show to the outside world that we are united and concerned about the spread of the virus.
Madam Broh lauded Mr. Slangar for the donation and assured that it would be used for the intended purpose.
She called on other Liberians to also contribute to the fight against the virus, noting “no donation is so small, we welcome all donations.”
