Civil Society Council Supports National Vision 2030

The National Civil Society Council of Liberia has announced its support to the outcome of the National Vision Conference.
The Council welcomes and takes seriously the duties and responsibilities assigned civil society by her Excellency the President, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Government of Liberia.
Meanwhile, with support from the European Commission in Liberia through International Alert, the Council has completed a three day strategic planning process in Monrovia from Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 December 2012.
The goal of the strategic planning is to develop three years Strategic Plan that guides the running and operations of the Council.
The strategic planning coincides with the climax of the national Vision Conference where civil society was assigned, among others, the duties of disseminating the national vision 2030 and relevant documents; constitute a committee to work with the Ministry of Education to identify local language to be included in the national curriculum to be taught as national language in the school system.
The Council, members of civil society and youth sector believe the strategic planning process creates a unique opportunity to align duties acquired by civil society from the National Vision 2030 conference.
The Council believes that the decision by the government and people of Liberia to develop, adopt and implement a national vision that will guide the future of the country is a strategic decision that will enhance the efforts toward poverty reduction; infrastructure, social, political and economic development.
The Council also believes the vision and its full implementation will enhance sustainable peace and national security.Backs Vision 2030
