… Konneh's Gesture Covers Schools In Bong
About 61 senior students from four schools in Bong County have benefited from a donation of Finance Minister Amara Konneh who recently paid LD$152,000 as WAEC exam fees for 2012/13.
Minister Konneh also pledged to award scholarships to five senior students from each of the four schools who would score high marks in the WAEC Exam to attend any University of their choice in Liberia.
Speaking to students' representatives from the four schools on Wednesday in Gbarnga, Bong County, Minister Konneh cautioned the students to be proactive in their endeavors as Liberia's future depends on them.
He urged them to take their education seriously for their role is critical in the achievement of the newly adopted vision 2030 of Liberia.
The Finance Minister's donation came as a result of a formal request from students of Bong County who were at the verge of missing the 2012/13 WAEC exam due to lack of funding.
The four schools benefiting from the donation include the William V. S. Gray High School, Gboveh High School, St. Mark Lutheran High School and St. Peter Episcopal High School.
The donation is in line with Minister Konneh's personal commitment to the realization of the National Vision 2030 through educational empowerment.
