…To Investigate Conflict In Cape Mount County
By A. Omaska Jallah
The Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf has constituted a 15-member committee to thoroughly investigate and find a lasting solution to the Kinjor problem.
Last week Monday, residents of Kinjor Town, Gola Konneh District in Grand Cape Mounty County, unleashed a ‘country devil’ thus paralyzing the entire operations of the Bea Mountain Mining Company and other business in the area.
The unleashing of the ‘country devil’ led to the alleged shooting of two persons by officers of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) of the Liberia National Police (LNP).
Minister Sirleaf called on all parties involved to be calm and peaceful until the committee can conclude its investigation.
The investigation is expected to begin Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the Sinje Town, Garwular District, Grand Cape Mount County.
According to the Minister, the investigation will last for two weeks and findings will be made public.
