Montserrado County electoral district #3 was a scene of jubilation and intense political activity on Thursday, August 31, 2017 when the Liberty Party candidate officially launched his campaign in the district.
Surrounded by thousands of Liberty partisans and other jubilant supporters, Atty. Kanio Bai Gbala led a public parade commencing at the Total Gas Station at the Omega junction which continued for hours throughout the main streets of the district.
Chanting slogans “Kanio na geh money, we will vote for him” and “Kanio say you na geh money, you will go to school”, jubilant supporters defied the heavy downpour of rain for hours in order to accompany their flag bearer to the venue of the formal in door program at the Henry Reed High School on Pipeline Road.
Speaking in response to the symbolic presentation of the district key by a group of young supporters, Atty. Gbala vowed to fight for a better district three by ensuring the provision of pipe borne water, electricity, and better developed roads.
He explained that participatory decision-making will be a hallmark of his tenure as representative of district three.
For his part, Cllr. Charles W. Brumskine, Liberty Party standard bearer, thanked Gbala for rallying the Liberty party base in district #3. He encouraged his supporter to be individual campaign managers for the Liberty Party.
He emphatically declared that Atty. Gbala was his personal choice for representative in district three because he believed in his integrity, ability, and vision for change in Liberia.
After the campaign launch in the district, local political pundits are now declaring that the articulate, young lawyer has clearly become the man to beat for the representative seat.
Brumskine said Gbala represents capable and positive change not only in Montserrado district three but in Liberia as well.
He explained that the Liberty Party’s selection of Atty. Kanio Bai Gbala as its flag bearer in the district exemplifies its commitment to youth development.
