Spanish Doctors On Capacity-building Mission

spanish doctors

Four Spanish doctors are in Liberia to build the capacity of medical practitioners of the Catholic Health Secretariat. Last Friday, the four Spanish doctors commenced a week-long training program for medical practitioners of the Catholic Health Secretariat. The training, among other things, focuses on pediatric emergencies and general assessment.

During the opening session, participants were drilled on how to treat children who suffered from various illnesses. The participants were told not to separate the children from their parents while undergoing treatment.

The four Spanish doctors are also expected to perform surgical operations on 35 children who are suffering from various sicknesses.

The capacity building training is in continuation of series of trainings being provided by Spanish medical practitioners over the years to their Liberian counterparts.   Over 50 participants are attending the training which is being held on the compound of the Catholic Hospital in Monrovia.
