The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) has congratulated President-elect Ambassador George M. Weah for his victory during the December 26, 2017 presidential run-off election.
Addressing a news conference Thursday, FLY President Augustine Tamba said the federation takes pride in the election of Ambassador Weah and Senator Jewel Howard-Taylor as President and Vice President of Liberia respectively considering that most of those who voted for them are young people.
The group called on every Liberian to support the government of Ambassador Weah for the good of the election.
He said FLY has explicit confidence in the leadership of Amb. Weah to steer the affairs of Liberia for the next six years.
However, Tamba called on the administration of Ambassador Weah to implement the National Youth Manifestos that he affixed his signature prior to his election as President of Liberia.
FLY pointed out that the National Youth Manifesto is critical to the development and empowerment of young people across the country; as such, the president-elect must prioritize the implementation of the manifestos.
The youth group pledged its unflinching support to the leadership of Ambassador Weah during his administration.
At the same time, FLY called on Ambassador Weah to form an inclusive government that will be merit based void of any political influence.
