…Rep. Zarzar Cautions Colleagues
By A. Omaska Jallah
Retained Sinoe County District #3 Representative Dr. Matthew G. Zarzar has cautioned his colleagues to at all-time exhibit honorability and hard work in their districts.
He said being an honorable should not be about just being a lawmaker or in high position, adding that “even a community job or town chief can make you an honorable, depending on how you will work and live with your people.”
Rep. Zarzar made the statement Tuesday when he received a Certificate of Congratulations from the Progressive Media Alliance (PROMA).
He said the honor bestowed upon him is something he deserved, adding that lawmakers must be honorable at the Legislature, homes and communities.
“Honorability comes with integrity, respect and honesty; this honor you bestowed on me today is because I have those characters; I thanked PROMA for been observance to know people of honorable conduct at the Legislature,” the lawmaker noted.
At the same time, Rep. Matthew Zarzar is calling on his colleagues to perform in their Legislative duties to public expectations and beyond.
He said Legislative work is not limited to the Legislature, noting that the actions and good moral conduct of a public servant makes one to deserve the title of honorability.
Earlier, the Executive Director of PROMA Joseph Taryon called on Rep. Zarzar not to relent in exhibiting honorability and hard work at the Legislature and his district.
Taryon said PROMA continues to keep eyes on lawmakers who show good quality of honorable people.
He said the selection of Rep. Zarzar was endorsed at a recent board meeting of the organization, considering his timeliness in session and hard work.
“In recognition of your astute leadership exhibited during the 53rd Legislature, the membership of PROMA has deemed it necessary to congratulate you for your re-election in District #3, Sinoe County in the October 10, 2017 Presidential and Representatives election. Your re-election is a clear manifestation of your dedicated services to your district and people,” the group is quoted on the certificate as saying.
It can be recalled that in 2015, Rep. Zarzar was honored by PROMA for his punctuality in session. He is always in session by 9AM, ahead of his colleagues.
