Confront Challenges, Abandon Controversies

The First Year (2012) of the second term of the Unity Party led government was characterized with challenges and intermittent controversies among the three branches of government.
These confrontations and unproductive interactions by our officials did not only embarrass the country locally, but also delayed the progress and advancement of the country for a year.
Most Part Of 2012 was either one government official accusing the other or another threatening court action against his colleagues. The confusion degenerated to a point where major government development projects were stalled as a consequence of delay in the disbursement of funds by the Finance Ministry.
Those Controversies Among our national planners were sometimes unnecessary because the confusion didn't contribute anything meaningful to our people, instead it stalled the implementation of development projects as well as impeded the formation of an agenda that could have taken Liberia one step ahead.
We Therefore Encourage our national leaders, including President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, members of the Legislature, Cabinet Ministers, the Judiciary and other public officials to confront the challenges that tend to undermine the development and progress of Liberia. We also urge them to abandon any form of hullabaloo and personal ego that have the tendency to cause chaos.
For instance, bickering over oil between Representative Snowe and Mr. Robert Sirleaf was not only pointless, but diverted the attention of government towards serious national issues.
As We Begin 2013 with the second term of this government, we will appreciate highly were attention be placed on priority programs, especially those that pose challenges to the forward movement of the country.
We Believe That if challenges are confronted and controversies ignored, the government will do more for the country within a relatively short period of time. It is our hope that the three branches of Government will work collectively to execute the mandate expected of them.
