The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has announced the deportation of eight Liberians from the United States of America for crimes committed in that country.
According to LIS, the eight Liberians arrived Wednesday at the Roberts International Airport on a special flight.
The deportees are said to have committed several crimes including Burglary, Extortion, Illegal Possession of Drugs, among others.
A statement from LIS said the deportees are currently being held at the Immigration Central Office in Sinkor, Monrovia.
The deportees are said to have served their respective jail terms in the United States prior to deportation.
More Liberian deportees, according to the Liberian Embassy in Washington D.C., are expected to arrive in the country shortly.
