…As Fonati Koffa, Mont. Supt Back Weah
The presidential bid of Ambassador George M. Weah of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) continues to receive major endorsements every day with the latest being former Liberty Party Chairman Fonati Koffa and Montserrado County Superintendent Florence Brandy.
Mr. Koffa who was elected as Representative for District #2, Grand Kru County, on the Liberty Party ticket during the October 100 polls, made the pronouncement Monday on a local radio station in the county.
“I am endorsing the candidacy of Senator George Weah as in the best interest of my district, my county and the nation. I am announcing my impending arrival in the county for this purpose and I have instructed my campaign machinery to begin mobilization for a massive get out to vote effort in Grand Kru County,” he said.
Cllr. Koffa said he believes that Senator Weah and the CDC’s agenda offer the best hope for the people in his district in southeastern Liberia, which is the most economically depressed part of the country.
“I am convinced that the infrastructure development in the Southeast, which I prioritize, is more likely to be fulfilled under Senator Weah, notwithstanding my admiration and respect for the Vice President,” he said.
Immediately following his pronouncement, citizens in the county, particularly in his district, hailed Koffa for endorsing Senator Weah’s presidential bid.
They promised to work with him to ensure that Ambassador Weah wins not only the district, but the county as well.
Also on Monday, Montserrado County Superintendent Brandy officially ‘endorsed’ the candidacy of senator Weah.
